Tyquendo Tracey

Tyquendo Tracey, born in Trelawny, Jamaica, embarked on a   journey that would see him become one of Jamaica's celebrated track and field   athletes. His educational foundation was laid at Bustamante High School,   where his natural sporting abilities began to emerge. The flame of his   passion for athletics continued to burn brightly as he progressed to Garvey   Maceo High School.

Tracey's trajectory toward athletic excellence took a   significant leap when he enrolled at the University of Technology in Jamaica.   It was here that he not only honed his sprinting skills but also delved into   his academic pursuits. His time at the university was marked not only by   academic achievements but also by a blossoming passion for track and field   that would define his future.

In 2007, Tyquendo Tracey transitioned to the professional   realm of track and field, marking a pivotal moment in his athletic journey.   He joined the renowned MVP Track Club in Jamaica, an institution known for   nurturing world-class sprinters under the guidance of coach Stephen Francis.   This affiliation with MVP Track Club signaled Tyquendo's commitment to   reaching the pinnacle of his athletic potential.


While pursuing his professional career, Tyquendo   demonstrated an unwavering commitment to education. He successfully balanced   the demands of the track with his academic endeavors, earning a Bachelor's   degree in Construction from the University of Technology, Utech, in Jamaica.   His dedication to both his studies and his athletic pursuits showcased a   well-rounded and determined individual.

Beyond the track, He found another avenue to channel his   passion and expertise – construction. Armed with his degree, he ventured into   a career that allowed him to contribute to the physical development of   infrastructure. His commitment to construction mirrored the dedication he   exhibited on the track, illustrating a multifaceted individual with a   deep-seated passion for both athletics and his chosen profession.


Tyquendo Tracey's impact on the track has been notable.   Representing Jamaica on the international stage, he competed in prestigious   events, showcasing his speed and tenacity. His accomplishments, which include   notable performances including National Champion and contributions to relay   teams, have etched his name into Jamaica's rich legacy of sprinting   excellence.

His journey from the halls of Bustamante and Garvey Maceo   High Schools to the hallowed tracks of international competitions exemplifies   the pursuit of excellence in both academia and athletics. His legacy extends   beyond the finish lines, embodying the spirit of a well-rounded individual   who excels in multiple facets of life.


Tyquendo Tracey's story continues to unfold, as he will be   vying for a spot on the team for Jamaica to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
