Dwayne Extol

Dwayne Extol emerged as a prodigious talent in Jamaican track and field, leaving an indelible mark with his exceptional prowess in the 400m hurdles. His journey to athletic excellence is credited to Wolmer's High School for Boys, where he showcased unparalleled skill and dedication, particularly at the renowned Boys and Girls Championships. Displaying outstanding performances by leading from the front to win Champs 100thin 2010, he captivated audiences and established him as a standout athlete on the national junior stage.


His meteoric rise continued as he represented Jamaica at the junior level in prestigious global competitions, including the World Youth and World Junior Championships. At these events, Extol's remarkable speed, agility, and determination in the 400m hurdles and relay were evident, earning him recognition and admiration among the international track and field community, including university coaches.


Venturing overseas to pursue higher education, Extol continued to excel athletically while attending Texas Tech University. His time at the university allowed him to further refine his skills, competing at a high level and contributing significantly to his team's success.

Transitioning from the track to the media realm, Dwayne Extol made a seamless transition into sports commentary upon his return to Jamaica. As a Track and Field commentator with one of the top media houses in the country, he brings his expertise, insights, and firsthand experience as a former athlete to audiences, providing engaging and knowledgeable commentary on track and field events at the highest level, the Olympic Games.


Dwayne's journey, from a standout junior athlete at Wolmer's High School to a respected Track and Field Analyst/Commentator, stands as a testament to his multifaceted talents, dedication, and passion for the sport. His continued involvement in athletics, now from the commentator's booth, serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes and enthusiasts alike, elevating the understanding and appreciation of track and field in Jamaica and beyond.
