Her journey continued beyond the shores of Jamaica as she pursued higher education at the University of Montana, USA. Representing the university's track and field team, she exhibited unparalleled dedication and skill, leaving an indelible mark in the annals of the university's athletic history. Her contributions were so impactful that she was honored as a Hall of Famer for the University of Montana, a testament to her outstanding achievements and lasting legacy within the institution.

However, it was on the grandest stage of them all—the Olympic Games—that Spence-Morana truly etched her name into history. In 1988, she proudly represented Jamaica at the Olympics, showcasing her exceptional speed, agility, and determination on the track. Her participation not only exemplified her dedication to the sport but also inspired a generation of aspiring athletes both in Jamaica at her high school Vere Technical, but also around the world.
